The Maunsell Forts are iconic WW11 Sea Forts in the Thames Estuary. They were built to defend London from air and sea attacks using anti-aircraft guns and radar. Later becoming famous for “pirate” radio stations such as Radio Caroline.

Our trip starts at Chatham Maritime Marina followed by a high speed ride out to see these impressive and foreboding metal structures “they look like something out of Star Wars!!” A great photo opportunity.

After seeing the Forts, we head off back to Queenborough for tea or coffee then finishing the day back at Chatham Marina.
